Default LT1 vs Supercharged Civic SI

I drive a 1995 z28 with my mods in my sig.A guy I raced who happens to be a fellow soldier has a 6-speed 2006 Civic SI with Jackson Racing supercharger,Injen CAI,intake manifold, headers, exhaust, and other minor bolts ons he claimed. This race was sparked by a friend of mine(Barnes) who owns a 12 second 96 Cobra.(Humphreys)The guy who owns the Civic was trash talking about how he thought his Civic would give(Barnes)a run for his money.(Barnes)Just laughed at him and told him he dont think his Civic could even beat my Camaro.(Humphreys)The young un-educated car guy he is came up to me the next day with a bunch of questions about my Camaro(Factory HP/TQ,gears,and mods). After talking to me...he claimed he would not even give me a race because he would not want to embarass me on the highway which we talked about. He thought his Civic and his claimed 16 pounds of boost which I knew was BS was too much.Come to find out it is only pushing about 6PSI.I trashed talked a little back to him.Making fun of his 2.0 liter engine and how he is giving up 3.7 liters to me and wont race me on the highway.Well I finally talked him into it because I was already wanting to shut him up.He followed me to I-70 in Kansas. With no traffic around I slowed down to about 25 mph as we planned to allow him to pull up in the left lane beside me.We lined them up side by side at a slow cruise around 25-30 when I looked over at him and just gave him a hand sign to go.I started off in 3rd,we both get on it and the nose of my car is about at his passenger door due to his small head start.Instantly I start to slowly pull him as I know his car is over matched. When I let off at about 110 mph I had about 2-3 car lengths on him.We just pulled off at the next exit into a gas station as he did not have much to say but a little tuning and I think I can take you.In conclusion,it made for a nice day...but then again it always is when you bring down another import.I was a bit surprised myself because I was under the impression that these civics were low 15/high 14 second cars bone stock.I expected a little tighter race.

Good kill man. Im no Honda expert but the civic should be at about 225-250 to the wheels. I agree it should of been a closer race.

Yeah I'm calling bs too. If youre close to stock and raced him at 6 psi, he would have gotten you especially if you started in 3rd.

6 psi on a 06 si should be about 250whp and hes much lighter than you.

I know a stock 06 civic si makes 197hp at the crank stock. It's rated at 138lb-ft tq. 6psi and some bolt-ons should have made that really close. Good kill.

I am sorry, the race was about three weeks ago right before our christmas leave.I believe it had to been 2nd I started off in because I shifted twice and never left 4th.At the end of the race he was in my rear view which I estimated at about 2 car lengths. The distance between his front bumper to my rear and the length of my car.He did go tell everyone he was on my ***.I just expected it to be about side by side the whole way.Didnt turn out as close as I thought it would be but then again we arent racing from a dead stop where a FWDs catch traction.I did not go into detail with him so I am not sure what gear he started in or if he short shifted at any point.Anyways,I just got back from a 15 month tour in Iraq and it is only the 2nd time I have raced the Z. 2-0 right now but I expect to get slaughtered by Barnes Cobra if he races me.

Um... what? . And I agree, I would think the race would be closer. I know with just bolt-ons and a Hondata tune those cars make 210whp+, so I would think if he did have a good tune and a blower @ 6psi he would be in the 260-275whp range.

a j/r s/c k20 with good tunning at 11psi get around 315hp 265 tq....buddy had an rsx-s with same set-up. however my 97 t/a with bolt ons and mild cam....beat him by 2 cars on the hwy from a 20 roll

learned very quick that you will never get a honda guy with a street car to run you from anything but a roll.

edit: sorry that was a 20 km/h roll and i started in first...lol 3rd i would never pull him rpm would be way to low to be in my power band.
