Default Always ! !

Always check the reluctor wheel even tho you have a brand new motor before putting everything together :/

Someone had dropped either the crank or the wheel when the motor was being built.

Lucky for me i was able to straighten it out and clean up the burrs .

Hopefully everything is in good working order now .

3 months and over 3k spent trying to figure out this problem only to find this .

Damn that sucks! What were the symptoms? And was the engine purhased as an assembly or did you build it?

The car would run fine as long as i didnt go wot , then the car would backfire through the exhaust and shut the car off and try to catch up to itself but couldnt .

Its the same basic symptom as a bad crank sensor .

Its a refreshed LQ9 i sent out to have rebuilt .

The Calies crank was sent out to be fixed (spun a bearing) so the crank went from Tampa to Orlando to Indiana and back to Florida so i cant point a finger at anyone and right now im just happy to have found the problem .

The quality of the motor build is excelent but i dont know how this could have been missed .

My buddy and i put the pan on it and didnt see it when we did the assembly and after putting the motor in the car and running it around for 3 months and spending all that time and money chasing the gremlins , it took me about 15 minutes to fix the wheel :/

Live and learn .

That was my problem all this time .

After straightening that tang out and putting it back together it roasted the tire off the car and pulls hard through the power band now .

Just had a burnout party in the parking lot
