Painting SLP lid
Hi,
I'd like to paint my lid, get a nice shine/reflection on it, but the 'SLP' lettering is recessed into my lid in white.
So when I paint it, it's going to show the old SLP logo.
1. I guess I will either need to use filler, or get a new lid without the emblem on?
I have FRC to paint also.
They have a textured finish on, simular to the lid.
I would like a nice shine on them when they are painted.
2. Do I need to sand them smooth to make them flat for a nice shiney finish?
Sorry for the basic questions, I've not done much paint work before.
I do know I need to paint them with adhesion promoter first, then gloss, then clearcoat to make them look good. 3. Anything else I'm forgetting??
Thanks for the help / tips
Happy hols.

i used evercoat polyflex if very flexible it worked great to fill the corvette letters in my frc. Then sanded them and used adheasion promoter primed with fill primer and shot the color then finally the clear. I also put some heat tape under the frc after i painted them so the paint wont bubble just for extra safty.

Thanks for the replys guys.
I love the custom painted stuff you guys have done, they look great, and have a nice shine.
So did you filler the 'SLP' logo, or will sanding around it, knock it down enough to not see it when painted?

Thanks for getting back guys.
Just want to be sure, as I hear some of the SLP lids have the logo sticking out from the lid, where as my logo is sunk into the lid.. I can still sand it out, right?
Sorry to be a nuisance, and thanks alot for the advise.
