Default How do I beat this car?

My friend has a 2001 Trans am 6 speed, with slp long tubes, ory, hooker, cat back, ported throttle body, air lid and a Hypertech Chip. I have raced him a couple times and he beats me everytime by about a car length. I have a 2002 camaro z 28 a4, pacesetter headers, ory, corsa cat back, 3.73 gears, and an air lid. I realize that the manuals have a little more power but what do i need to do to beat him. Do you think hp tuning will do the trick or do i need more than that?

+1 to stall and drag radials. The tune will help, but the stall and radials will definitely put you over the edge. You'll need those drs if you get a stall though.

If it's by about a car length I'm betting a tune would make it even.

Everything as stated above and maybe throw in some different rearend gears as well. Stall and tuning would be the best improvement.

Why not do a simple cam swap.

Many to select from - tame, mild or wild. The TR224 is a solid and proven performer!
