Default will an ltx cam fit a sbc

like it says will a ltx cam fit a sbc? wats the difference? is the pin to large?

yes a LT1 cam will work in a SBC you just have to grind the dowel pin down that drives the opti so it doesnt hit the timing cover. People put stock LT1 cams in TPI cars all the time.

i have a hotcam and noone wants it so my dads thinkin of puttin it in my brothers 3rd gen

id say go for it. it will work without any problem as long as you grind the dowel pin. That little hotcam should do pretty good in a TPI motor.

its actually a carbed 355 but it was a tpi and the heads and cam r still the same as in the tpi

even better you'll actually be able to turn some RPM with the carb setup and not have it die off at 4800 lol

lol we give him alot of crap me and my dad because were buildin my car and are tryin to run 9s with it and he always says well if i do this ill be as fast as you then my dad shuts him down lol its a nice car though and its in good shape he paid lik 1500 for it and the car has a fresh 355 and the exhaust was about 1k itself

I put that cam in a 78 z28 350 old motors(non-roller blocks)the lifters were $$$ retro-lifters from speed-pro,youas far will also need a cam button to keep the cam from walking.as far as the cam dowel pin,instead of cutting it you can tap it in flush with the timing sprocket..

good point you can just tap it in. Will he need a cam button because he has a roller motor so it should have a button already right?

no button on them but ther do have a retainer for the step nose cam
