Default pictures of my 5.3 powered notch

http://s276.photobucket.com/albums/kk3/brady346/

Just thought Id show a few pictures of my project. The pictures arent that great. Its just a budget build notch comprised of many cheap/used parts but also a few good parts. I really havent run into any problems or issues. Car is actually further along than these pictures show. The parts have all basically went right into place.
Here's the list of parts:
2005 5.3 liter
Thunder Racing Old Man Truck cam, patriot dual golds, comp pushrods
Edelbrock Vic Jr. carb intake
MSD 6LS controller
NX plate kit
Pacesetter truck shorties (no apparent clearance issues)
early 6.0 liter flywheel and spacer
TCI 5500 stall
locally built TH350
Ford 8.8 rearend
Maximum Motorsports full length SFC's
tubular upper and lower rear control arms
Competition Engineering 6 pt. weld in cage
AJE tubular K member for LS1
AJE tubular A arms
DRP coilover kit
quick steer manual rack (had to significantly lengthen steering shaft sent with this kit as shown by the pipe sleeve in the pics)
fuel cell feeding a holley blue

If anybody has any suggestions or constructive criticism let me know. Shooting to break into the 6's in the 1/8th on a pretty big hit of spray.

looks good but u might want to tighten up that stall for the hose! I would say a 4000-4400 would perform better

You caught us on that one and that is one of the downsides to being on a major budget (the converter was cheap and good). We believe the stall is definitely too loose for the hose but we are hoping the small cubes and lack of NA power will keep the stall speed down a little lower. Hopefully the msd box will cut the spray and limit rpm and save us if/when we blow through the converter.

Thanks for all the compliments folks.

Man I would love to build something like yours and Chads. I probably will somewhere down the road.

Props to both of you!

Thanks for the confidence man. I sure hope it breaks into the 6's. The car should be really light.

The most fun we have had with the whole project was putting an UNJETTED NOS nozzle on the stock 4 cylinder and putting the spray to it. It immediately slipped the tranny and hung out at max rpm with the spray still going. It finally popped after nearly a full ten lb. bottle went through it. Dang 4 banger really woke up with the sauce though. Melted the electrodes off of the plugs and filled the cylinders with liquid nitrous and blew a huge cloud of smoke/nitrous out from between the head and block. It was great.
