Default Oil Pump Question

I'm doing a cam change pretty soon and I've heard of the 97-99 oil pumps going bad, but is it true that the 00-02 have the LS6 pump...if so think I'll really need an aftermarket one?

The LS1/LS2/LS3/LS6 LQ9 LQ4 and 5.3L are ALL the SAME pump from everything i have read. They only use different pick up tubes and o-rings. The only pump that is different is on the LS7, or the LS4 or any engine with displacement on demand.

When i ordered a new oil pump for my 2000 mod. TA from the dealer ,they sent me the LS6 pump. They told me that the LS6 pump is the new update pump for all LS-models.
