Dodge Ram Vs GMC Sierra

Dodge Ram Vs GMC Sierra
Whats the build quality like on Rams, I have never had a good impression of Dodge build quality. So maybe some of you that have actually owned these trucks can shed some light. I am not in a hurry to buy, so I want to make sure what I do buy is what I want and wont regret like a teenage pregnancy. F150 is out because the only Ford I would own is a Notch, 03/04 Cobra or an 03/04 Cobra power plant in a Notch and if I was rich, a notch.

I think GMC has a much nicer ride and build quality. I had an 01 dodge ram and it was the worst riding vehicle I have ever been in. Ever bump in the road felt like a 5ft. pothole. I hate the way the dodges ride in general. GMC/ Chevy trucks ride much smoother IMO.

I've had both, and to me it's a close call. I was going to get a crew cab 1/2 ton Chevy but stumbled across this Dodge now. My 4x4 rides pretty good, and I like the power that the Hemi has. But if I had both infront of me, it'd be up to whichever I got the better deal on.

I guess it depends a bit on how old trucks you are looking at.
Earlier this year I had a 06 Ram 2500 MegaCab Cummins 4x4 w/30K miles for a little while and it wasn't too bad. Hard to say how it compared to similar GMC, though, as I haven't driven one in quite some time.

I don't like the grill on the new Silverados, it's the same truck though, just badges. I have a production Firehawk hood on my Trans Am with matching air box, so that has got to count for some thing. I have zero desire for another 4th gen, next performance car starts with a C and end in orvette ZO6

ive been looking at both the gmc and silverados. and still cannot get myself to like them very much. the silverado looks like a bigger version of my crapbox! and the gmc looking more like a f150!

I was in the same boat a year ago. I wanted a megacab real bad because i love the way the look with a lift and wheels. I test drove a lariat (sp) and then went and test drove a gmc believe it was a sle2 or something. Right when i got in the gmc I knew it was the one. Of coarse the have a bit of price difference but the way i looked at it was I could walk out to a dodge every day ans say that is a bad *** looking truck and then get in and hate the interior or i could walk out to a gmc and say the same thing but love the interior.

The new '09 Hemi 1/2-ton is very nice. The new rear coil spring makes the ride very comfortable compared to previous Ram's (although you lose a lot of the capability that the old leaf setup offered). The new 390hp Hemi really offers some giddyap too. And, you can get the Hemi in a reg cab short box.
I bought an '08 Ram this last summer and now am kicking myself in the *** for not waiting and getting an '09. Although I do love driving it. Very comfortable.

If your buying new and dont plan on keeping it than go GMC/chevrolet. Dodge has the worst resale value.
I would strongly suggest not getting cloth interior if you choose a dodge. Its the shittiest thing ever and the main reason I got rid of my 06 Ram.
Dodge is very roomy and the ride was great. I would get a Hemi with leather and a sunroof. Right now Dodge is giving huge incentives to buy with them.

Ive had both and the GMC sierra rides MUCH smoother then a dodge, and most of the time an 01 dodge will have cloth seats as opposed to the sierra i had was fully loaded with leather seats, and was much more comfortable then the dodge.

My 06 Ram is the best truck I've ever owned and I don't plan on buying another one for 10-15 years. I wouldn't buy a gasser though, not a fan of any current Dodge engine.
Even the 08 model GMCs still have piston rattle problems. Nice interiors but personally I'm not a fan of the exterior styling anymore.
