Red face HAPPY NEW YEAR but brake issues :(

I wanna start off by saying happy new year to you guys. Thank you for all the help in 2008 i really enjoy you guys and your input is very helpful.
So my brake rotors are heat cracked and my pads are completly bare again after i just replaced them 4 months ago. I ordered r1 rotors and ebc yellow stuff pads. I was wondering though, should i bleed my brake lines and install steel brake lines while i am at it?

Thanks again guys. Cheers!

You should probably go with the red stuff pads. The yellow ones are more for the track. I think they would wear out quicker and wear out your rotors quicker. Also slower speed stop times might be compromised. I'm kinda biased on braided stainless steel lines. Considering I had mine on for a week and a day and the LF line blew out on me. So thats my input.

If your worried about brake fade, then the red stuff is what you want, go ahead and get the SS lines and Rotors and Pads!!! that will give you what you want in order of braking!! good luck and post info when complete!!!.

I say for a NY resolution we quit any of the bullying on this site.

For me, it's one of a few places I can go without everyone being an "internet expert" and try to shoot down / deflate / disqualify each other's statements.

There are a few folks that have been around a lot longer than others regardless of age. We're all W-Body brothers and sisters - I don't mind messing someone's hair up now and then, but getting sick of the Friday night basement "had a couple too many" BS talk.

Everyone here should be able to add their thoughts, and we can read their posts if we want to.

SS Lines are a good upgrade, do it! And new brake fluid is always good for you!

I remember reading that stainless brake lines were impossible to get for the GXP, at least bolt on kits anyways. Has anyone here installed them?

I got the SS lines for the 00-05 Impalas from PFYC.com . Haven't had any problems yet (knocks on wood).

I did my brakes yesterday. Apparently i cant get drilled and slotted rotors for my gxp according to r1 concepts. Anyway took like 3 hours, 2 hours for the first one than like 30 for the second once i figured out what to do. They stop MUCH better at really high speeds like 130 down to 80 but no difference on the lower speed stops in fact i might even say it isn't as good at lower speeds. There is a gouge in my rotor already so i gotta take my pad off tonight and take a look at it
