Default Problems with VHT HELP!!

Did my tail lights yesterday with VHT. My process is as follows

- Cleaned thoroughly with windex
- wet sanded entirely tail light down with 400 grit lightly
- wet sanded with 220 grit to remove numbers imprinted
- cleaned again with windex and removed all debris with microfiber
- sprayed 4-5 light coats of VHT on each light (I want a smoked look)
- Waited about 30 minutes before applying clear
- Sprayed 2 light coats of clear on tails then wet sanded with 2000grit
- Sprayed medium coat of clear and wet sanded after that
- 2 more light coats and wetsanding
- And a final medium coat with wet sanding after wards

Lights turned out dull and not as glossy as I want them

I have continued to try and wetsand with 2000grit but no results
I have also used plastx and no results
and finally I went out and bought the mothers powerball and used my drill and turtle wax polishing compound to see if that'd work, and again no results.. still the same dull appearance. They're like berger tail lights lol.

you can either clear them. Or when you spray the vht, spray it a bit closer (compromise between where its a dull coat and where it will start to run) and it should come out to a more liquid look.

If you get to close it will darken the tails, I would buff it and you should be fine. I ran into the same problem.
