Side marker paint

I am considering painting the side markers on my 2000 Formula with the VHT night shades to "black" them out. Is that illegal or going to give me problems when i try to get my car inspected in Texas?

i seriously doubt you would get messed with over the markers. it's more or less the taillights and headlights that will get you in trouble

No issues here. I would doubt that they even looked at them. I have my tail lights done also, but they are not too dark.
