Default headers and short throw.

ok i have pacesetter long tubes and i was wandering if you guys have any tips or comments on instalation. can i use my stock y-pipe? i know i will probaby have to cut it if i do. if not what kind of y-pipe do i need? also heard that the gaskets the pacesetter sends are crap. is this true? and if so should i just use the stock ones or buy new?

and i was going to buy an slp short throw shifter but i heard its not any diffrent then the stock one. slp just put their name on it. again...is it true? whats the best short throw shifter for the t-56?

thanks for the input guys. -brett

not sure about the shifter I drive an A4 but as for the headers...your stock y pipe will not work and if you are looking for suggestion I have head that the pacesetter y pipe works pretty good with the pacesetter headers...just a thought haha they are only like 130 through one of the sponsors.

The most popular short throw shifters are: Pro 5.0(the notchiest*some like that, some dont*, but supposedly has the shortest throw, B & M ripper (not quite as notchy as the 5.0 most people like it) Hurst (love it or hate it kinda thing from what I have researched) and the new brand for f-body owners, MGW (the most expensive, but the people that have it, love it. it is quiet as you can see on this youtube video posted by a user on here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVD_1BV-XNo
MGW does not have this on their site yet so you have to call them to order*be advised that I think you have to use a specific shift ball/***** I hear they use them on the new vettes and they seem to be great.

for header install tech help look here: I am not sure how many of those links include header install tech, but I know some do. There are plenty more out there too. I found you a bunch though. Good luck and God bless.

The paper Gaskets that Pace Setter sends are crap, the Copper ones are good.

I plan on using a B&M Ripper with mine. A friend of mine had one in his car and it was nice.

Screw the Y-pipe. Go X or H. lol. As for the SLP shifter. I have one, and it's alright. I wish I had something better though. The only reason that I got it was because I found it for like $35 shipped from a member on camaroz28.com. I'll probably end up swapping it out for a Pro 5.0 sometime this year though.
