Default Diminishing value....

Are there any auto insurance gurus out there?

Friday night I was side swiped by a guy who failed to maintain his lane. He scratched the entire driverside of my car. He gave me his insurance info and I called this morning to start a claim. I am curious to know if his insurance is responsible for the loss of value that my car has for it now having a "carfax" blemish? My car is an 01 Mag red C5 with 33k and it was/is extremely clean. The damage on the fenders is mostly paint but I have a bit of fiberglass damage around the door handle and rear qp.

Any info would be much appreciated and a recomendation for a top notch body shop in the Houston area is welcome.

Thanks,
Gilbert

Best paint shop for Corvettes is Richey Collision off of Veterans Memorial. They do mostly Corvettes there.

I'm not sure about any diminished value payment happening on an 8-year old Corvette. That typically gets offered on expensive exotics or high-end cars that drop quite a bit in value when wrecked.

I did some research on a corvette forum and saw where they had been highly talked about. They actually brought up the subject and mentioned it was TX law.

I will let them handle the repairs.

Tony is right Richey Collision is great with vettes. Also I dunno how much money you will even get for diminished value on a $20k car.

Might be a tough job to claim any diminished value, but don't hold your breath.
