some interior q's
ok... my car is currently in the shop getting a 6pt cage installed... to save myself some money i opted to paint the cage myself with por15. ok so i'm going to have to pull the interior back out to paint most of the cage i know.. but how do i go about getting the headliner out? dont want to screw up any of my interior parts! are there any "problem areas" on the interior i need to watch out for? by problem areas i mean hard to get to clips, screws, bolts, what have-ya.. any input will be greatly appreciated. reason i wonder about the headliner is because of something like this
i guess if it come down to it i could slide some cardboard or paper or something between it and the cage and just paint and hope the paper or whatever doesnt stick to bad... i just dont want to do a crappy job
thanks
Daniel

From the pics i would say you cannot remove the headliner since you must remove the big plastic panels on both sides.Maybe you could wrap some nice vinyl around the cage?

it being custom built to fit as tight as possible to the car.. not a production cage.. i'll prob just slide some cardboard up there and paint it.. im doing it with a brush anyway so overspray wont be a problem... just dripping.. but i'll have the seats and all out of my way and plastic down

+1 on cardboard if it fits. spray would probably turn out better though, i would think. if you spray then maybe you could tape trash bags sideways too. so they come down on each side?

if you want it to look good i would say your best bet is to get alot of plastic and tape. and take your time and make sure EVERYTHING is coverd by plastic and tape. then spray paint it (if you have a gun and compressor i would do it that way.) make sure the bars are clean from oils and greases to. you might even want to sand the metal first. thats how i would go about it.
imo a paint brush will show alot of lines
