A good customer/friend of mine has a 72 chevy pickup that had a 403" LS2 /w F1R procharger that has seen 9.60's.

It is minitubbed on 315 radials, alston framed/coilover
Well setup truck with nice 4-link, drag brakes etc etc.
TH400 transbrake, 9" Rear

Well he broke the ls2 motor couple weeks ago and he wanted to make a big race at Fontana this weekend, then got my motor in , running, and raced in less than 24 hours.

He picked up my 427" longblock that was just finished at the machine shop on Friday afternoon at 5:30pm. Went straight home, got it slammed in the truck, fired up and running at 1:30 am, got a few hours sleep, out the door and loaded up at 6am.

Made his first pass at 11am at Fontana dragstrip and went 9.40 @ 138 first pass.

Last pass of the weekend (4th pass) it went 9.19 @ 143 /w a 1.3x 60ft.

Combo:

427" Forged Shortblock
TFS 235cc 6-bolt heads
Victor Jr Carb Intake /w Intakeelbows.com elbow and 90mm throttle body
(11 psi) F1R procharger with the same pulley setup from the 403" (made 12 psi on 403")
238/252, .598/.603 @ 113 +3 Hyd roller camshaft
LS7 Lifters, YT rockers etc

Awesome results! Everyone should have a chassis as nice as that!

That's very cool, and that truck has the aerodynamics of a brick so that setup would run 8.80's in a car.
