Default Just Passed Utah Emissions with TR224!

Just thought I would post up the results . . . I don't remember seeing anyone else from Utah with this cam. This was the first time getting the car smogged with the cam - it's a TR224 114 LSA. Passed the OBD2 test, visual, and safety with not a single glitch. I have computer tuning but have never desensitized missfire detection.

I didn't even get flagged for not having rear seat belts or the stock driver seat belt (I replaced it with a 5-point harness.) Also running a Loud Mouth (basicaly straight pipes.) The car was just sitting there through the whole thing doing it's lopeity lope thing, but no comment was made about the cam! Thank You Tunex!

Also, I noticed the inspector checked off "Not Applicable" for Air Injection on the Visual check. It's still on my car, but he couldn't find it so he thought it didn't come with one! Knowing that, when I go back next time, it really won't have one!

What about LT headers... do you have these?

Nope, no headers yet . . . but I have some QTP long tubes without AIR fittings on order, should have them in a couple of days! I plan on fabing my own stainless steel true duals to go with the headers.

Yeah I would have went with the TR230 if I hadn't needed to pass emissions. But in retrospect, passing was much easier than I thought and probably should have put in the TR230. I've heard of people passing it even in CA, although I think it takes some effort. My inspectors just assumed the car didn't come with AIR or EGR, so that part should be easy. I think you should mix up a 80-20 batch of gas/methanol and go for it!

Do they go under the hood of every car, or were you getting "special" treatment?

Yeah they look under the hood of every car here (that seems a bit personal to me ) but that's how they do it. They also have a peek underneath to see if the cats are there. Utah is second only to California when it come to PITA emissions checks.

Yes with newer cars they only do safety and smog every two years, but that rule just went in effect this year. I had to do it last year too because they are checking odd numbered years. So next year I get a break.
