Unbolt the 4 little bolts (7/16" i think) that hold in the 2 straps. Pry forward with a pry bar and it will drop out.

Also, mark the drive shaft and put it back in the same orientation, not 180 degrees the other way

Should be just four bolts to take off the "C" pieces that go over the u joints. You will probably need to put in gear or apply e-brake first and then take off one side then take it out of gear or release e-brake and then spin DS 180 degrees and do the other side.

and after u unbolt and move the drive shaft forward, run tape around the rear u-joint so the caps don't fall off and all the needles fall all over the friggin place

Okay, you guys are starting to scare me now. What is going to fall out of the rear u-joint? I just need to undo the attachment to the rearend and then slide the DSL on. Once I do that, I can bolt it right back up.

The caps can come off of the rear u-joint of the driveshaft but if you're careful and don't bang it on anything you should be fine. Inside of the caps are "needles" or needle bearings that are just held in there by grease so if the caps come off the needles can fall out too. It's not that big of a deal, just run some tape around the caps or just be careful not to knock the caps off.

If the caps from the u-joint happen to fall off....there are needle bearings inside them....can be a bitch to track them all down, clean them and replace back into the cap to re-grease. If all you need to do is put the DS through the loop have someone help hold it or tape around the caps too make sure the caps don't come undone.
