Default Which Stroker???

I have been searching info on strokers and my head is killing me now. I have looked at vendors sites but would like ya'lls recommendations. I thought I would be happy with what I have mod wise but I want a little bit more now. Here is a break down of what I have:

2007 C6 M6 497/451
Callaway Honker CAI | Spinmonster Ported FAST 90mm | LG G6X3 Cam | Trick Flow 225's milled to 62cc | LG Pro Z06 headers | Catless | Z06 B&B Bullets | Mcleod Twin Street with Aluminum Flywheel | RPM Stage III 4.10's, diff, and shafts

Let me know what kind of stroker you would recommend. I know there is a 402 and for a few hundred bucks more you can get a 408 or a 418. Or if I want to spend a couple grand more I can go all out and do a 427. I want to stay NA and don't have any plans in the near future for FI. I want over 500rwhp and close to 500rwtq.

Also what pistons, rods, and crankshaft would you choose? I want a good reliable motor I can count on that hopefully won't crap out on me soon.

Thanks,
Andrew

You have a few options, I'll pm some you with some details. Its all about budget, the bigger the easier to make power in more streetable form but 500/500 is very attainable.

Andrew, I should have your quote finished up tomorrow mid morning. 500rwhp is easily achieved with a basic 402 with good parts and a well thought out top end.

i went with a 408 from ccperformance and it should be putting down well over 500. for an n/a motor i would probably go with a 418 with callies crank and rods, weisco pistons, and tfs heads with a ported intake. with that setup i wouldnt be surprised if you made above 550/500. good luck with the build. and check into erik koenig's engines. he is about the best builder out there

+1 Track down Erik Koenig of HKE Enterprises here as he builds the best motors making incredbile power at an affordable price and the little longer wait is worth the end product! Also, I see you are in Texas and he is located at or near Houston.

Yup! Erik's reputation is excellent. Skip the iron block 408 for the vette. Stay aluminum with the LS2 403 or LS3 416(8).

sorry to *****, but is there any drawbacks to stepping up to a 4.100 stroke (418) as apposed to sticking with the "normal" 4.00 stroke (408)? i know the windage tray and oil pickup already has to be spaced to fit the 408 crank, but i just dont see too many people going with a 418. are there any particular reasons?

They are both the same stroke.

402 = LS2 4" bore x 4" stroke (408 = LS2 .030 overbore)
418 = LS3 4.08" bore x 4" stroke

Only major difference is bore

However, the major difference between the 4" stroke vs the 4+" stroke would be the fact that the piston pins are placed higher up in the piston which makes for a thinner ringland. Most people will avoid it especially if you ever plan on using spray or any type of forced induction in general.

Yep as stated above when you get above the 4" stroke then you really should be not using a power add.

The 418 we build is an LQ9 408 with extra stroke... 4.100.. Its a n/a application only.

I would call Scoggin dickey who had a 427 short block for 3995. Then let Ron @ Vengeance work there magic with one of their cams, TFS 235s & FASTs new 102 intake. Just my .02
