Default LS7 block/oil pan oil circuit question

Guys,

I'm hoping that someone on the forum knows about the oiling of the LS7 block and oil pan. Specifically, there is a small port above the oil filter on the oil pan. Is the oil in that port pressurized along with the rest of the block, or is that port only pressurized by the scavenge circuit?

I'm asking because I have temperature and pressure probes stuck in a Lingenfelter adaptor block on that port. At idle I'm only seeing 6psi, so I'm trying to figure out if the motor is really at 6psi, or if I'm actually reading the pressure of the scavenge circuit.

TIA

You may be reading the pressure of the oil cooler lines, I would have thought it to be the same as engine oil pressure, but it may be lower if its different than engine pressure. I've never checked on an LS7. It's a good question though.

The scavenging side resides all in the sump area of the oil pan - to the engine 2-stage oil pump, nothing is on the oil filter side.
