Default 2003 Z06 wiring issue

2003 Z06, factory bose system all around, had a r/r speaker that was going in and out, I figured it was a bad speaker so decided on replacing them with JL's, so install the JL's and guess what...same prob, no sound from R/R speaker, so I poke around a little and decide to test the ground, I just ran a test wire from the neg speaker terminal to a chassis ground, and it comes right on with no issues.........

So....

Does this indicate a bad channel in the head unit?

bad ground in the head unit?

Bad amp to that speaker??

any way to test to know for sure??

any issues with just running a new ground wire to a chassis ground and leaving it that way???

thanks guys

check where the GND wire connects to the terminal. Start from speaker, trace to amp.

sometimes the wires, at the point where it plugs into the speaker, the plug itself may not be making contact or the ground can be crimped- that can break the circuit.

If all else fails just run a new ground, you said it works fine if you do that.

sounds like a simple fix.
