Default Ai 200cc heads stock bottom end

anyone know if the stock bottom end will handle the Ai 200cc H/C package? they claim a max of 475 rwhp with a port matched intake with a stock bottom end on an m6 with the stock rear. im just wondering if i can actually run this setup daily on the stock bottom

No problems with my shortblock yet. I don't see 475rwhp happening with the average setup though.

You should be fine, it really comes down to the cam selection because too much rpm will kill it. You have a nice cam for adding some 200cc's and running the stock bottom end so I wouldn't worry so long you properly maintain the engine.

well my motor has about 102k on it right now. run nothing but royal purple or mobile 1 so i think its in pretty decent shape for an lt1. i do think the cam is pretty small tho. i was going to go with whatever cam they recommended for max hp and streetable.

I have those heads, 226/234 Cam, and their ported intake on a stock bottom end. No Dyno numbers yet, but I'm in the vicinity of 420 rwhp. A great upgrade.

With a 225-235deg HR most stick cars will be in the 410-440rwhp & 380-400lbft range depending on how optimized the setup is. If you have the budget to upgrade valvetrain etc. to do more than that, then it is assumed you have improved the shortblock as well (i.e. budget 35X rebuild, 383, etc.). The higher hp HR guys will typically be in the mid/high 400's with the CNC'd factory head. The racier solid street/strip setups will regularly make 475-525 with a competent builder using the factory head/intake castings.

Thanks for the interest!
