Default Widest Welds in front?

I currently run 15x8 rear and 15x3.5 Pro Stars on my car. I'm tired of swapping between those and my C6s, so I sold the C6s with ideas of running my Welds only on the street. The problem is, braking and handling are terrible with the skinnies.

What would be the widest I could run in front, stock calipers not ground down, with 5/8 spacers that are used anyways for the skinnies. 15x6?

Thanks.

I did search prior to posting, and came up with nothing.

With a 15 inch rim, I believe 4" is about the widest you can go. But then again, I'm not too sure. Just read that in another thread.

Can barley fit the 3.5" welds on the front with LS brakes so Its highly unlikely any other width will fit. I don't think the barrel of the rim will clear the brake calipers.

I coulda sworn I'd seen wider, again maybe 15x6, with some weird offset on stock brakes.

I had these shouldered lugs and swapping the wheels as much as I do, but may go back to 18s/19s for the street.

I've seen 15x6" rims on an LT1 car but I think they were Convo Pros or some other brand. LT1 brakes have more clearance.

Personally, I'd say go back to another set of street wheels if you don't like the skinnies. Even if you could get something to work, I think it would look gay as ***** with wide front WELD rim & tire in the front.

Yeah, kind of a waste to go from 3.5" to 4".

what size tire are you running?
I know most people run a 165
Try a 185...thats what a friend of mine did.
Its a wider tire so it has a little more drivabilty.

This is the reason why I state to everyone not to use 15" setups as everyday street setups...even if you used a legit street/strip style 15" wheel combo. Problem is no matter how they are built, they are terrible for normal everyday street use!!

I'd suggest considering picking up a set of 17's again. Anything else in 15's large or small will be terrible in comparison. This is due to the large sidewall which you're left with.
