Me also. Start tuning your car NA first. I started with my turbo honda 9 years ago that ended up making 620whp.

I tune my own stuff. Started playing with Tec 2 about 6 years ago on a built Conquest. Then Hex editing and burning EEPROM chips for DSM's. Then DSM Link. Played with EVOscan/ECU flash. Ditched DSM's and started playing with LS engines. HP tuners and Megasquirt is my thing now.

I have an *** load of various forced induction, tuning etc books. Read them, compare info, talk with others, The best is learn from experience.

I bought hp tuners about a year back so could practice with it NA. I am going to be making the jump to 3 bar speed density in the spring when bring car out of storage.
Don't forsee any big issues. Hptuners has a forum and there is tuning section on here and on their forum you have some example tunes to work with.
I do know some local guys that are wizards on hptuners so if get over my head will just have to pay them . I find wot tuning is pretty easy but part throttle and speed density looks a bit trickier.
But at least got car running with base tune. I just set my max timing to like 12 for now and afr targets to like 10.5. I was not going high boost or even holding boost for more than brief time as my fuel system is not finished yet be ordering it as well shortly.

Started by reverse engineering the maps out of a Mazda MX6 turbo, all done in hex. Read up on internal combustion engine theory and detonation theory to understand how an engine works.

I tuned my car NA in Speed density first, then jumped to 2 bar. Had a little help from some friends, did a lot reading on the web, etc.. I still don't really know what I'm doing, but enough to make the car run pretty well and not blow up is good enough I guess. Just heir on the side of caution.

im tuning mine right now, i had never touched hptuners until after i put the turbo on. the biggest thing is to take it slow and really learn how to use the scanner. usually if you run into a problem someone on here can set you straight pretty quick.
read everything you can find on the subject
