Default 92 ls1 camaro vs 95 stang 5.0

Well was on a road trip from Phoenix to Tucson Friday. I meet up at my buddy's house that has a 95 mustang 5.0 it's a 5 speed mods I know of are some msd wires, and cap, K&N, adjustable shocks plus lowered and a mac off road x pipe. We fill both cars up at the gas station right by his house and head to Tucson. I also have about 100lbs of stuff in the back I am dropping off to someone down there. Anyway on the way down he decided to pull up next to me, we drop down to about 60mph. He downshifts into 3rd looks at me and goes, so then I put it to the floor he has me by a fender. Once the car downshifted out of overdrive and took off he described it to everyone as buslengths. We knew what was going to happen but just had to do it. That was the first race and first rod trip the car has had. And get this we went almost 150 miles and stopped for gas, I be damned, neither of us believed it so we tried putting more gas in and pump shut off again I got a whopping 4.5 gallons to go in! my mileage was 31.6mpg. That was the point I fell on the ground laughing and he cussed. Right now there is no exhaust on it just the headers and ory so I know mileage will be coming down when exhaust is done. And I am running the stock 2.73 gears in the rear. Man I can really afford to lose some mpg and swap those gears. Just thought I would share

I don't know if that's even the right word..

I almost stopped and bought ear plugs, after that run my ears were ringing for a while.

and then on the way back home coming through the tunnel on I-10 here in phoenix I decided that would be a good time to put her to the floor no it wasn't. will never do that again

No ****... my best friend had a 5spd '95 GT back in high school, and I used to toy with him in my Integra GS-R. They sound great, but no-so-queek.

I don't know about toy with one..... My screen name came from my first mustang a 94 5.0 with headers, h -pipe and C/B and CAI and I got a decent 14.3 sec pass out of it.

Forgot to tell the O/P good kill!

well IRUN's integra used to run something like 14.7 or so, and without the headers i bet those late 5.0's wouldn't pull much faster if not dead even with that, so his comment about being able to toy with one may be a little far fetched but still believable.

It wasn't so much the 14.97 that it ran, it was the ~94mph trapspeeds. A stock SN95 5.0 (unless it's a GTS) isn't gonna be able to beat that. And I didn't "toy with him" like doing 3/4 throttle passing and ****, but there is a funny story about the one time I raced him straight-up. Rather than hijack this thread further, I'll make a seperate thread for it. Cuz it's pretty funny.

MUSTANGS ARE SLOW!!! Say that to yourselves slowly and repeatedly until it sinks in, you will be much better off.

Yea, slow...here is a video of my car. 0-160mph in 20 seconds with a top speed of 240mph. I had to stop the pull at 180mph because it was getting hard to breath because the car was pulling so hard. When I go for the high speed runs I have to have a racing suit on, in the video I had on street clothes. See for yourself.
