you will wanna get a walbro 255 fuel pump because I don't think stock will keep up, but I guess it could depend on the cam size.

+2 on the walbro 255 for peace of mind. I think it is capable of supporting like 700hp.

You can hurt alot of things running it lean...the trap door method of replacing the fuel pump isnt too complicated and worth the peace of mind. Just did one yesterday actually

Outside of that, all the stock lines, etc will be fine.

Depends on the 396, you could conceivably put one together that would be fine on the stock fuel system. The fact all you mentioned was displacement raises a flag to me and makes me wonder if you draw a direct connection between size and power???

Displacement is not really even a consideration in fuel system selection, airflow is, and displacement does not dictate airflow.

If the engine works well you will need a Racetronix kit with Walbro pump and wiring upgrade and new injectors, the lines and regulator are just fine.

True, but most people who build a 396 aren't exactly going for a mild build.

Thing is most people who think displacement is the critical factor don't endup building anything particularly powerful either. They fixate on displacement and neglect the truely important pieces and endup with a big expensive mediocre performer.

Also true in some cases.

Stock pump should be good for approx. 400rwhp,

Racetronix single kit w/ hotwire should be good for a little over 550rwhp.

I make a double pump kit with Racetronix components that will support over 1000rwhp.

Stock lines should support around 700rwhp.

If you are in need of a system, please give me a call, I stock the Racetronix kits, Double pump kits & also custom line kits

what size injectors did you get ?
i had 36lbs on mine and it was running to lean.
i also had a stock pump running w/ my 396 for a year.
i'd suggest getting a new pump too.
lonnie ill be calling you soon!!!

lol i wish i knew how much power i am making! i have been trying to get this damn car tuned for the longest....the first time i got it on the dyno my water pump took a ****. the second time it was my fuel pump and injectors. third time fuel pressure regulator. 4th time the regulator i bought was a pos accel, sent it back for an aeromotive. waiting for that to come in. i think it made 320 or 330 running really lean. so to the op, u might as well do the whole fuel system right now!
