Default DILEMA!! PLEASE HELP 08 silv. vs. 02 TA

O.K. guys, need some expertise. I was changing my oil for the first time in my new truck, an 08 5.3 flex fuel silverado when I noticed it has the 243 heads. I was like WTF!! I had been planning on adding some 243 heads to my tr230 cam to wake it a lil more and was wondering what the effects of swapping heads from my truck and 241s off my TA would be. Downside for the truck? Compression ratio? Are these the same as vette 243s? Any help would be greatly appreciated before I tear into my new truck and void the warranty. Guess I could just tell them my truck doesn't run right and that all other trucks I've seen have 243s and why mine has ( after swap) 241s? Maybe get a free set of 243s out of the deal. I know wishful thinking.

Not worth voiding a 100,000 mile warrenty on your new truck IMHO. Save up and buy new heads for the T/A.

All 243 castings should be the same with some minimal differences in springs and valves composition. The CR for the truck "should" stay the same, while it will lose maybe 15hp. It would be A LOT of work doing the swap on both cars vs. just buying a pair of 243's and swapping them on your TA. Don't do anything to the truck.

If you figure what it will cost you in fluids, bolts, and gaskets you'll be about half the price of buying a set outright. Not to mention the time and amount of work it will be. Then should anything happen to the truck you're taking a chance that it won't be covered by the warranty. Is that really worth saving 200-300 dollars to you? With all the 243/799 heads coming in to the market the price should drop. I had two complete motors(A 5.3 and 4.8) that came out of burnt trucks given to me, and they both have 799's.

Thanks for the advisement and I agree with all of you. Just between car and truck and Mortgage payment I have little left and when I noticed the heads I was probably going to use were already in my possesion ( minus CNC and valve work) I figured it'd be a decent weekend project.
You all are right and I agree to leave the truck be......... for now!
Thanks for reading and advice.
Mods you can close this if you'd like.Everyone agreed with the way my RIGHT mind was thinking.
