Why cant we use SBC valve springs on are heads??
It seem that valve springs are starting to become a problem for our cars. We have heads, cams, and intakes all getting better and better but were still stuck with the same old shitty springs and heavy valve trains. Whats keeping us from using a SBC spring in our cars? Maybee with the new AFR heads think those are the ones there making but not out of GM castings we will have some better spring options.
Thoughts??

You can the head has to be machined to fit them and they need to be the correct installed height. Alot of head porters are using them it just causes other issues like interfering with the rockers.

SBC springs won't help with the weight issue; the distictive LS1 beehive spring shape has some real advantages. If you stick with stock LS1 springs, you won't have any problems. If you need stiffer springs than stock, then you must put them in. But anytime you make a spring stiffer, it becomes more brittle, so you just have to warm up the engine before you rev the hell out of it and you will be OK.
