Default Parts for Head/Cam swap?

I'm planning to do the head/cam swap by this summer. I try to gather everything I need so I don't have to do the job twice. If there's anything else recommended or mandotary to replace, please post and let me know.

So far I've these parts ready:
Cam/Head (Of course)
7.425 push rod
LS2 Timing chain (maybe go for Rollmaster adjustable)
LS6 Oil pump ported
Water pump
Front cover gasket set

...and what else I need or recommended? Should I do the lifter?

Thanx

Assuming the the heads come with springs, I think you will just need a heads/cam gasket kit (head bolts and gasket, front cover gasket, crank seal, water pump gaskets, and balancer bolt.) and an oil pump o-ring. We have a N-motion single roller chain that is adjustable and reasonably priced. Other than that, you will be good to go! Let us know if we can help at all!

Yes do lifters and lifter trays are only about $32 a set do the LS2 trays. They are a little sturdier than the LS1 trays.

Agreeing with the others, YES get lifters and trays. LS7 is what I would get but there are also Caddy race lifters and Comps. Have you thought about going with cometic gaskets opposed to gm mls?

BTW for conversational purposes, which H/C combo did you go with?

I got a nice deal on some Comp OE-R lifter (Thanx Lawnboy), even cheaper than LS7 lifter from GMPD so I just go with that. I've think about Cometic. Most likely I'll run stock thickness so if GM MLS is cheaper, I'll just go with that. I need to ask the cam experts (Predator-Z and Pat G) some questions about the head gasket thickness on my setup. So we'll see.

I'll be running TSP 224R with custom port 5.3L head mill to 61cc. It'll be running 11.2:1 so that's the reason why I'll running stock thickness head gasket most likely.

The PN listed above is the GM MLS gasket 12498544. It comes as a pair so you just need to order one. They run about $30. I'm not at work so I can't look up the PN for the lifter trays right now.
