Default Noise from Rear **GM Guys Welcome**

I have a 2004 Suburban 1500 with about 70,000 miles. When I'm driving about 35 ~ 60 mph and let off the gas, I hear a soft growl (like mudders on a pickup going down the road, but not as loud) coming from the rear of the truck (stops at about 15 mph) . On acceleration there is no noise (driving me crazy ). Any suggestions? I'm going to pull the diff. cover off this weekend.

Thanks

It is the bearings. When I worked at the dealer many years ago I would rebuild atleast three a week. When you get it back together be sure and use synthetic fluid.

Its the bearings and/or the gears. I specialize in this type of stuff. Give me a call to make arrangements (assuming youre close to DFW).

I would charge $325 parts and labor to change out the internal bearings. Add $200 for a new set of GM gears. So 525 total for gears and bearings. It may be worth the drive from Houston
