Default ls7 coils heat issues are the truck coils better

we are tuning my warhawk et ls7 engine , it is a boosted application , using race fuel on a car dyno . we have a 4l80e trans with a yank 3400 stall converter , which on dyno its reading like 5000 , which makes it hard to tune. We are using the ls7 coils mounted down near the extractors , no heat shields.when engine is set for first cold pull the coils are working fine but after several the coils are acting strange , we are making about 990 rwhp and there is more timing left in it but ither the coils arent producing enough spark at high revs and its becoming unstable. Ive heard about the ls2 truck coils that can disipate the heat much better , are these coils producing more spark than the ls7 coils , any real world testing would be appriciated thanks

Why not try and move the coils to a better location or try and insulate them?

Here's the best discussion on coils I've come across. Don't believe the LS7's are in there, but may help.

ill be testing with the ls2 coils , but ill try to resolve firstly with the ls7 coils . ill try different dwell setting for the coils , look at the heat being absorbed from the headers, earthing the coils better, spark plug gap and so on , then ill change coils if needed . once problem found ill let you know
