Default AWD 4l65e to 2wd

i just picked up a motor and trans from a 2003 Silverado SS and want to use it in my nova. Can i just add a tail shaft housing to make rear wheel drive or do you need to replace output shaft and tailshaft housing. Any info or suggestions.
