Yeah my guess was about 175lbs but everyone says it weighs more than that. Im thinking 250-275lbs might be closer?

Be great if someone thats actually shipped one could tell us. If not...I will take it to the local CAT scales and pay $9 to get it weighed...haha.

You had better guess way high or you might get charged a reweigh fee. I shipped one at 350lbs, but FYI a pallet can weigh as much 70lbs if it is wet or humid. That weight needs to be factored into the weight estimates.

With crank, pistons, and everything assembled its pretty damn heavy.

I busted my *** taking mine out the back of my pickup and onto an engine stand by myself...but I'm not exactly a huge guy - except for where it counts of course .

Block is probably 180lbs, crank is 55-62 depending who you ask, pistons and rods are all individually over 1lbs apiece, oilpump etc. it all adds up fast. IMO 275 without a pallet is probably a good guess.

With freight adding weight is not always a bad thing because they have formulas for density and for some reason light but big stuff costs more than heavy items. When I shipped a tranny from work our packout guy added some weight in extra protection and actually caused shipping to drop $20. Point being make sure it is secure, the additional weight wont cost as much as you might think.

Me and My bro, just carried a long block into the house and I would say it was around 300. It was heavy but i didnt feel like I was gonna drop it. We had to bring it up some stairs and everything.
