Default no ignition power??? Help

I,ve got a 1998 camaro LS1 m6, The car wont start ive checked all fuses all good swaped around relays and nothing. In the car is the fuse block and the ignition spot has no power but the ignition fuse under the hood has power?? All the lights, radio, climate controls all work. When you normally turn the key on the lights on the gauge cluster come on then off like the seat belt light etc, but the only light that comes on is the security light. When i go to start the car nothing then security light turns off but the red light on the dash flashes. Then when i let the key go back the security light comes back on. Is this the security system just not leting the car start or is there a possible other problem any input would be helpful thx.

Security lite should go off after 5 seconds when you turn on the key.. If it stays on the VATs system prevents the starter from cranking and kills the fuel injectors.. You have a bad key or defective key sensor in the ign switch. Search on VAT's bypass if you want to bypass the key security requirement. Or just try cleaning the key, wiggiling it in the switch. After a couple of failures it locks out the system for 5 mins before you can try again.

All the lights are supposed to come on when you turn the key to the on position. When you try and start it they should go off I believe.

I would go with the ignition switch but thats just my .02

Im gonna put in a lock cylinder with new key and i'll go ahead and put in a new ignition switch an hopfully that fixes it.

Ok, I didn't read the whole post ..

Wipe down your key really well around the chip. Then try again.

Ditto. Ignition switch is the main culprit. Change them or have it repaired and you'll see it work.
