Default Front Plate Bluues :(

So I Bought my car on the 5th. It is a USED 09 G8 GT. And it was originally from Michigan (Where, I am assuming, front plates are not required). So since it is used, the new car inspection sticker (which is good for 4 years) is no longer on the car. I have to get the car inspected. And wonderful New Jersey requires a front license plate. However, I have no mount, and there are no holes yet. I wanted to keep it that way! I dont want to drill into my front end! But, to get it inspected, I have to have one. What should I do?????

zip tie it under the bumper somewhere, or get one of those windshield mount things?

windshield is probably illegal, and you won't pass.

zip tie, and then take it off, or get the show-n-go retractable plate mount bracket, which is what I have. It's pretty cool, but you have to drill, but hey, it's the bottom of the bumper, you can't even see it.

Used car dealers have tag mounts that are magnetic so they can move them car to car...I know the front bumper is not metal but maybe there is something you can with it to get it passed inspection at least?

+2. Then you can even stay legal when you need to, and tuck it under when you don't.

the simple solution would be move out of nj to florida where we don't have front license plates or inspections

Double sided tape or use the magnetic plate from a car dealer and put a piece of metal behind the bumper

under the bumper would be too low, in the windshield is not legal in NJ.

yes, yes. Now THATS a good idea! lol. I just got back from Florida. No front plates, no inspection stickers and Tint is legal!. WTF. I'm stratin to lean more towards the double sided tape thing if I cant ziptie it somehow. I'm sure the tape could be easily removed. side moldings and emblems are held on that way and I took those off my Trans Am.

In NJ you can pass inspection without a front plate, but the LEO may cite you for it...

i was going to suggest double sides tape as well!

i would give it a nice wax before you stick the tape on, then it should peel off easy when you remove it

The double sided tape is a good idea.

I love Alabama... no inspections and no front plate
