weight comparison 9" vs 10bolt?
So after my first pass with my new ford 9" today i pull up on the scale and read 3120! My weight with the 10 bolt was 3080, plus on top of that i pulled out 50lbs! So from 3030 to 3120?!? Do ford 9" really weigh 90lbs more? It doesnt have an aluminum center section but jeez!

It depends on the housing and options. Our MS housing is a few pounds heavire that the 10 bolt. Our CM housing is lighter than the 10 bolt. The Moser cast housing is a lot heavier than the 10 bolt.
The weight is at the right end of the car if that matters in the cost comparison. The 9" is also a lot stronger.

You probably would not have had to save as much as you think. I got my chromoly drive shaft, tourqe arm, crossmember brace w/ drive shaft loop, lower control arm brackets and everything powder coated and installed for under 3k.
