Default A little advice?

So i sold my dash pad from my 91 camaro. It was in mint shape when i sold it and the person today said they got the piece all torn up and bent.
Now i built a frame around the inside of the box with PVC pipe which made a box/cage around the dash pad. I then took it to a shipping shop where they wrapped it in unnessary amounts on bubble wrap and peanuts.
They did a damn good job( i paid freaking 20 bux for it) and i thought that it would be plenty safe.
Now to me this person is talking some bs.
Do you think that it really could have gotten damaged that bad?
The way they described it was that the dash pad was all dented and the corners were torn and broken.
Now shes all threatening me saying shes gonna report me to ebay
Just some others peoples opinion would be nice. Thanks

I have been on ebay for over 6 years and have over 1,000 perfect feedback. There is scammers out there, both sellers and buyers. First thing is did you have insurance on it? If not, make it required and not a option. Also if you shipped it by UPS it comes with $100.00 dollars insured automaticaly. How much did you sell it for and how did you ship it?

Although this could be faked, I would ask for a picture of the box and frame you built (from the buyer). This could help you if you find it was damaged during shipment.

I would suspect he has a damaged one (that's why he's buying one from you) and now trying to say your's is the damaged piece. That way he can get your piece for free.

There is only specific damage that could happen from shipping. Bent or compressed sound plausible, ripped/torn sound close to impossible.

yea you should always offer insurance. sounds like some bs to me. my advice, wait for the pictures they send you, make sure they send pictures of the item next to the box. if they don't send pics, call their bluff and tell them to send the item back and you will give them a refund when you receive it. basically, you want to have a paper trail that shows you are trying to do everything to fix the problem. this way, if they dispute you on paypal, you can say you asked for pictures of the damage, you offered to refund the money, and they didn't cooperate. paypal will give them the finger and this will be over.

sounds like you have experience with this. bad transaction?

OP-this is good advice, he can't really argue with a paper trail.

just tell them to send pictures and ship back at their expense and the shipping is not refundable. Also that you have identifier on the dash you sent them and if they are not there when you receive it back then they will not be refunded. They will also be reported for attempting to scam you.
