Default new 4l80e install what rear gear to run

Hi,I have just installed a 4l80e trans into my old street rod.The motor is a 04 ls1 with twin turbos and the converter is a yank sc3000.The rear gear is a 373 and was wondering what others run for a gear on a STREET CAR?I will drive it 95% of the time on the street with the a/c on but still want to have some *****.I was thinling a 307 gear. The od trans has a steep first/2nd gear so I think it will have a nice hole shot on the street and still have some highway mileage right???

the 4l80e only has a 2.48 first gear, so i think it would be better with 3.73's
if the converter was built for the ex gears, changing them will affect the stall
i run 3.73's with a 28" rear tire

It also depends on what you engine torque curve looks like. I would leave the 373 for the launch since you are running the factory 2.48 ratio first gear. Especially if you use it a a daily driver.

I'm running 3.73's in my twin turbo LS1 4L80E camaro with a PI 3600 stall. Converter is a little loose, but no complaints other than that.

I just ordered a 9'' with 3.89's so we will see how that works out with the py3600 and the spray outta the hole that 2.48 sucks but im hoping by switching from 3.23-3.89 it will make a nice different outta the hole.
