Default Ran the car tonight with new heads and cam....

Ok well as some of you may know I just recently changed my motor combo...I previously had stock heads, a hot cam kit,edd wright pcm,longtubes..pretty much all bolt on's...and that combo was yeilding me consistant 11.50's and 11.60's at 116 and 117 mph...well since then I added a custom grind cam 224/230 .568/.573 114 +2
and TEA stage II 5.3 liter heads...tonight the best I could pull was a lousy 11.85@113!!! I lost 4 mph and 3 tenths i know I need tuning and all..but I don't know how much that is gunna help...i really doubt it will get me over 3 tenths and 4 mph...besides if it got me 3 tenths and 4 mph..i would only be right where I was at before the heads and cam...my sixty foot's were 1.58 and 1.64 on the second run...my first pass was 11.88@114.2...what the hell is wrong with my car?? I am going to get it on the dyno ASAP and see what's up..hopefully im getting like 15 degree's knock retard LOL or something..i need an explanation it was even colder than the last time I ran... any suggestions would be very appreaciated and or comment's..im kinda bummed out later,

carter

carter don't be bummed out, the fact that it was colder out lastnight than it was the night you ran your 11.5's doesn't mean that the air was good, there could be a huge variation in DA, plus your tuning could be way out to lunch with the new combo.

Get the car up on the dyno and we'll get it sorted out.

If the car is running rich it will run like something you flush! Tunning made a world of difference for me.

that's very true...because it feels like it's pulling 10 times harder than before up top..but the rev limiter comes too quick in my opinion...i threw both timeslips out the window from last night lol i was pissed! im running again though friday (tomorrow) so i will post that slip

Post up your best before and after timeslips (complete).

One possibility is that your cars power peak is a lot higher than before.

How far off could the tuning be??? If it was set for LT Headers and Hot Cam, it shouldn't be any worse than people running the combo with stock tuning. The MAF should see the extra air coming in and compensate. What is his Rev limiter set at??? I am assuming this is a 6 speed???
