Each crankshaft tooth is 16.36 degrees, so each tooth off on the camshaft gear would be about 8 crankshaft degrees.

You need an adj. timing chain and a degree wheel to be able to adj. cam timing the right way though.

One full tooth off, and it will barely run, if at all

just trying to see if i can take the easy way out, i just finished putting it back together after i advanced the cam 4 deg ( i do have a cloys adj. double chain).

i was having trouble pulling the cranck sprocket but i found a friend who lent me a tool to pull it out.

i started the car just to see if it even runs ( i was thinking i would have to do a cam position relearn deal or maybe even have the pistons smack the valves ( my kind of luck) but it fired right up, but it had a clacking noise that went away right away. i'm thinking it's just the adj. rockers loose while the lifters where pumping up.
we'll see how it runs in a few hours.
