My car sits most of its life and the other day I decided to drive it. Well after about a block my shift light flashes back on and all my gauges do a sweep, like i just started the car or something, the engine didnt loose a beat or anything..just the radio and gauges. Well it seems to do it at least once when I drive it. Also another weird thing is when I try to unlock the car with the remote it wont respond but when I unlock it and get in ive seen the gauges do a sweep without putting the key in:confused:. Now normally Id just figure maybe the battery in the clicker is dead, but I can lock the car and unlock the car once ive driven it...........Im hoping maybe its a crappy battery connection, the positive had some corrosion on the threads so I cleaned it. Havnt had a chance to see if that helped yet. Anybody else have any clues as to what the hell is going on with it?

when you check the battery connections check the main hot going to the fuse boxes in the engine bay mine was doing the gauge sweep/ gauges off thing and that's appereantly what the problem was

Corrosion on the battery terminals. The car will run fine off of the alternator once it is started but it may cause wierd indications. That or a bad battery. Have it tested for free at an auto parts store.
