It's a 1981 with either a 229 or 231 six. Didn't think to check the VIN at the time. Then again, didn't really care since it's a six cylinder. The car was driven daily until the local flood of 2005. It's sat ever since and hasn't run. I'd imagine I could get it to start up with a flush, tune up and battery. It's 100% complete and has minimal rust, which surprised me. I checked the usual spots that were troublesome on my '80 Formula. Inside it could use a dash pad, carpet, and some refinishing on the plastic panels, but the seats are damn near flawless.
Although it needs some work, it's complete, the body is straight and it's right down the road. I figure a smallblock swap, some primer and a posi would make for a fun, dirt cheap toy.
My brother actually ran across it while doing some electrical work and asked about it. Off the top, they said they'd let it go for $700. I went by today and I'm pretty confident I could talk them down to $500.
So what do you fellows think? If it was a complete rust bucket, I'd pass, but this thing is actually pretty solid.
