If you get the K&N it mounts to the air box

Ok guys, I'm going to fabricate a fenderwell intake for my GXP. The question I have is what is the diameter of the MAF sensor so I can get a coupler to attach that to my 3.5" piping? Also, what do you think I should do with the PCM and tranny computer? Just leave them mounted to the bottom of the box or should I fabricate something to protect them?

You're the man nacho, have you seen any write-ups on people doing any custom intakes for our cars? I just want to see different ways of connecting the silicone coupler to the MAF, thanks man.

Thanks man, I know ZZP and Intense make FWIs. FWIs are for GXPs only because we dont have room to use to fender. So I'd look there for designs.

Cool man, I understand, thanks again and I'll post pics when I get this thing all done. My cousin cuts Polycarb so I'm gonna have him cut me an exact clear piece to wall off the fenderwell from hot engine air. FTMFW LOL

Use a PVC or composite of some sort, it will not heat-soak as much as a metal pipe.

I might use composite. PVC is not good for your engine. as the poly-vinyl chloride is heated it gives off harmful molecules which then get sucked into your engine and act as an acid when they hit any metal on their way down A couple of my redneck buddies learned that lesson on their trucks doin that crap. And I'm a chem guy. If it wasn't so hot it would be fine. I'll definitely look into the composite though. Thanks
