This is kind of random, but I couldn't seem to find this info anywhere. Does the stock PCM retard timing if it detects lower octane gas? The reason I ask is the pump I went to at shell yesterday was broken and gave me 89 instead of 91, and the car actually runs better. It is not fully tuned, so I'm wondering if it pulled some timing and ended up actually smoothing it out a little (since the baseline tune is not set up for my exact car).
