Default Powersteering pump questions

This may sound a bit confusing. I want to remove the power steering rack and go to a manual rack. The tricky part is that I want to keep the power steering pump on the front of the engine. Looks and orginality. Is there a way to cap or close off the pressure line, and also the return line? IS that possible? The engine bay will look stock but under neath the car will be a manual rack.

i think it would be possible, but why? having a manual rack isn't really something worth hiding IMO. and you'd still be keeping the weight of the pump and the drag of the belt turning it.

Default P/S pulley options

look here:

looks like to me you can have them make one for you or do the short belt
good luck

little off-topic.. I have thought about going to manual rack. Any caveats for a DD or should this strictly be for a track car?

Some people run them on the street and some run them on the track. It is a pain to turn the wheels sitting still, but then again why would you do that in the first place. I am going to a manual rack cause I am tried of fooling with my powersteering rack whining, leaking, squealing, tried of pump leaking, line dry rotting, and so on and so forth. To me that would solve a lot of childish games for me. BMR sponsor or one that carries BMR stuff has them for a real good price.

Well, unless yo have "skinnies" upfront, manual steering on a DD can become a pain in the ***. Especialy if you do alot of in town drving, parallel parking, etc... I mean, it all depends on what you can put up with.

i'm still wondering why you don't just get a shorter belt and take the pump off. what's the point of having the dead weight of the pump or paying extra for a delete pulley?

Because it is on my friends non LS powered camaro. PITA to find a pully delete for it and not run into belt issues. Looking at teh Katech PS delete pully to see if that will work.
