I have seen some crazy prices on F body's, mainly in IL. I don't know if people are just trying find someone dumb and hope they will pay the rediculous numbers or what. Check some of these out.....

Yeah, I see people always posting on this website, how good a deal they got on their fbody.
IL doesn't seem to have that great of a price.
I found just what I wanted in my 96 TA, but I had to go to Ohio, and I actually paid a little more than I would have liked but I was so tired of searching, that I just gave in. I searched for over 7 months.

Prices don't seem too crazy to me as the cars look to be in great condition. The miles on that 98 SS are a bit high though.
The 98 T/A should be priced closer to $10-11. But most dealers do have them around the 13 range.

i paid $5500 for the one in my sig, 1999 M6, 90,000 miles, Mint Interior Black Leather, T-tops, Bone stock when I got it and it great shape...picked up in Illinois
and seems like your looking at dealers, they try and rip you off any way they can...look for private sellers and you can find some great deals on F-bodys right now.

Same here was looking to get back into a fbody and getting rid of the 06 GTO. People still want insane cash for them.
One guy I saw wanted $19k for a WS6 with 95k miles. Another wanted $22k with only 75k miles. Most of them I know are beat to a snot as most are being sold with nittos on them.
I got one guy got off guard. I asked if the car has ever been run at the track. He said no. I asked why the nittos then. he had no reply. Went to look at it and you can see in the back window the very faint shoe polish of his track time. This guy want $21k for his.

Looks like you got a good deal. I thought I had a good deal with my firebird. $2750 and only needed an opti.

Prices for a low mileage (under 20k) are anywhere from $15k-$25k. Got mine for $18k with 12k miles (SOM).
Price depends on 1. miles, 2. condition, 3. color/options
Do a search on Autotrader for 100 mile vicinity $2k above your price threshold, you will get more results that way and can bargain down to your budget.

IL prices are usually a little higher, but to me it seems like prices on midwest ones seem to be higher than ones like out in California. I have seem some cars bought for cheap out there. That second one is at a place that looks like all cars would be overpriced and the white vert is kinda rare because of the white leather, but not enough to justify the price.

Super nice IL cars command a higher price because there aren't that many super nice cars here. If your F-body is a daily driver in Chicago weather for 90k miles, then I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it's not that nice anymore.
You're paying a premium price for getting winter/weather free, stored, low mileage cars in this state. In CA, you don't have the winter factor, so all the cars look really nice for the most part. The undercarrige of a 150k mile CA car look nicer than what you'll see under a daily driven 60k mile Chicago car.

I flew to Ohio to get my car from here in Nebraska.... Got a great deal!! When i got there to pick up the one owner 98 TA there was a mis-understanding.... to make a long story short... i ended up paying what they gave for trade in on it... lmao! They lost money on the car after they put new tires on, serviced it, etc... needless to say the manager was NOT happy with the salesperson!
Just keep your eye out... for the right car its worth traveling and you wont regret it, dont just settle on some POS.

If you take care of your shit in winter then it will stay nice for quite a long time. I pull my car into my shop 2-3 times a week spray the salt off the paint and underside and always keep a good coat of wax on it right before the winter hits. And No BS my car looks really nice, And If you DD these cars in winter all you need to do is take care of them and they will look good for awhile.

I paid 11.5k for my car but its a Mint 96 Ws6 Formula M6 hardtop and only had 27,000miles with all the maintenance records and orig window sticker and all the documents, Always kept in a heated garage and got it from the orig owner. It was exactly what I wanted and would have paid more too. LOL! They wanted 16k but i got them to 11.5

A couple years back when I was looking I could barely find an LS1 car of any kind under 12k, with a lot of them being around 15. I also noticed here that being an M6 car seemed to drive the price up A LOT.
