oil light on and car full of oil??? help

Default oil light on and car full of oil??? help

friend of mind has a o1ss and the oil light is on but the car is full of oil
what do yall think?

Nothing to worry about. It is determined by mileage. I can't remember how many miles before it turns on after you turn it off. 3,000? Either way this is how you turn it off. Turn the ignition on, off, on, off, on and then step on the gas pedal three times.

LOL I'm seriously not messing with you. This is one way to reset your oil light.

This actually works on alot of GM vehicles. Last Fall I had to reset the light in a friends newer Impala this way.

turn the accessories on with your key,pump the gas paddle all the way down 5 times then turn the key off and the oil light will go away

I use this procedure as well, even showed a mechanic who had just down an oil change on a T/A this method.

there are 2 lights that come on for oil though
low oil and oil change

I know this thread is old.

Johnster did replacing the oil level sensor fix your buddy's problem?

I cannot believe how this thread goes on and on about reseting an oil change light when the OP was talking about a low oil light. My gosh

one of the wires had got pulled out of the plug on the oil level sensor, ya its fixed.
