Look at your current power level...if you spend all that money and only get 50-60 more hp Id be sorely dissappointed. Getting 450hp from a well thought out 396 combo should be pretty easy.

On top of that you're currently an auto car...the amount of money it would take to get that setup in the car and working is pretty high. You are changing everything.

Okay...missed that somehow. Keep us in the loop once you get it dyno'ed.

476rwhp, remember that number. It will be within plus or minus 2 hp if the tune is spot on.

If that thing only puts out 450rwhp there is something seriously wrong with the combination.

I would feel safe saying 470-480 rwhp.

I put down 441rwhp with stock ported heads, H/R, A4, S60 and 28" tires.

I think the cam is too big for a) the LTx intake manifold and b) the stock ECU (assuming). 460 rwhp at best.

^ I was going to say something about how monstrous that cam is. Are you sure those are the .050 numbers? Those are some lazy lobes if they have that low of lift.

Assuming those are in fact .050" specs, that cam is gonna peak around 7600rpm.
You could be a better idea of what the cam lobes look like if you also had the @ .006 specs.

Call it 570hp / 450tq or so at the crank based on what we know.
Problem being (like Mike said), you're going to hit the PCM's limit at 7200

If those are in fact .006" numbers, then the cam is a lot smaller.
Peaking around 540hp @ 6500 and making 515tq @ 5000.
Again, just a guess based on what we know.

the cam was a custom grind from comp. im thinking that is just advertised duration (kinda like my 268/276 in the firebird) all i know is that this car leaves me in the dust. larry im going to be heading your way once im back from deployment so i can let you boys mess around with the tune. looking at picking up a 200 shot before i come over. hopefully ill be close to the 700 RWHP range. not bad for under 10 grand huh. Oh and Z-Rated i got that number stored if your within 5 horse ill buy you a celebratory beer lol

Not sure if your static compression is accurate or not. If you have 14cc dished pistons and your block is roughly zero decked with a 58cc combustion chamber you are more like 11 to 11.5:1 depending on your gasket thickness. Not that it's a big deal or anything. Just FYI.
As stated if that is the accurate duration then that thing is going need to be rev'd to the moon before peak is reached.
Very curious to see the results.

have any of you guys looked at the golen engine website at their long blocks? they have a 396 thats pushing 520 at the flywheel. its still hydraulic and a set of trick flow 210cc with 62cc combustion chambers running 11.5:1 comp. i got to be above that power level right guys?

Yes, you should be well above that with your setup.
I think you'd be even more so with bigger heads, 210s may be a tad small.

460-470rwhp. The cam and intake could be swaped out for more hp.

I believe AI broke 500rwhp with a stock intake/pcm and mail order tune on a stalled auto

then again that was also a well put together SR combo

If those are the advertised durations they are at .006. You should have a cam card that states the .050 numbers. You can't really figure them out with out the card or having the cam thrown in a cam doctor. The ramp rates on the lobe make it pretty much impossible to determine without one of those two.
