dude dont mean to be a perv but the title of this thread is very misleading lol!
if you dont have the money id just pass it up in my opinion. but if you can get a loan do it if you really want the car the best way to do things is borrow from your dad but oh well

Talk to your local banks, they are all different. Right now, theres a bank up here that will give you $7000.00 in a line of credit if you're a student. At an interest rate of something like 2%. But they require a parental cosigner.

even if you found the money, you could get a good condition ls1 for that cost. that thing will have problems down the road and if you are in college you'll end up not being able to afford to fix them.

That is a good price for an original 400 car with matching numbers if one is wanting a project. GM isn't making any more of them and more and more cars from that ear are being crushed or simply going to waste. I have a '67 400 'bird and a '01 T/A. Both are great cars but the '67 will always be the most special to me.

dude, i love ls1's but when you look at classics like the 67-69s its like man thats gm at its finest. no plastic bumpers and fenders, thats all steel man, its just quality that will always stand the test of time, plus, people would trip out seein a young *** kid drivin a 69 firebird.

Wow, what a title. LOL.
If you can get that car for 7800 and it IS as clean as your dad says, I would try to pick it up. That is a steal and the next big car for people to be tearing into.

Your family sounds, uh, close? LOL. theres lots of loans you can get. This car may qualify as a classic(to the bank i mean) And theyll give a regular old auto loan. If not you could look into businesses that specialize in special auto financing like classics and exoctics etc. If you have decent credit you could just take out a Personal Loan. You could take out a school loan but i would save that in case you ended up needing it since you are in school. You could take out a home line equity of credit if you owned a house or could talk your parents into it.You could put yourself on the streets on the nights your not in school. Are you good looking?LOL
