Default friendly race with another z28

well a friend of mine came over to swap rims with me, i had stockers and he has some kind of black 17's with a chrome lip. well he owed me some cash ans is selling his car anyway so we swapped. well i wanted to see how they rode and he was going home so we pulled onto the highway and both hit it at the same time and i started spinning bad, since it was about 20 degrees. he pulled a car or so on me, i shifted to 2nd, and spun some more but he wasn't pulling, at the top of 2nd i was even with him, and i was granny shifting, i shifted to 3rd and easily put 2-3 cars on him. well heres why:
he was in a 94 z28 auto only mod is a flowmaster. so it was expected, but whenever i ride in his car it really feels fast, i guess the auto tranny is deceiving

yeah we both knew i would win, but i didn't realize how easy it would be, i mean i just gently shifted each gear losing about a car length each time but taking it back plus 1 or two as soon as i got back on it. it was really sad how slow it was.

SOTP feel is very deceiving. Tis why many ricers think they have 13 second cars.

You probably felt the LT1 torque down low comparing to your LS1 torque.

In my experience, it seems like cars usually feel faster in the passenger seat. For example, I don't feel like my car pulls very hard when I'm driving, but when I'm in the passenger seat and someone gets on it I think it feels fast as hell.

I'm curious to run my buddies cammed lt1 car (13.0 on skinny bfg traction t/a with 2.1x 60fts)

his car feels faster than my cammed ls1 car (partially due to my tune), but he is likely a good bit lighter

agreed, mainly because you not holding the steering wheel, and your head flies back because you dont know when the driver is going to gun it. when you are driving you know when your going to gun it so you automatically tense up a bit so your head doesnt fall back.
