Question A4...Gears?

What gears are you guys running with your A4's? I just put a shift kit in mine and it made a big difference in the 1-2, and the 2-3. Not much of a difference in the 3-4 though. I have the 2.73 rear gears now and want something for the strip but also need to drive it on the free way. I have read a lot of post about rpm ranges and the difference between the 3.73 and the 4.10 is only about 200 rpm at 60-70mph. Let me know what you guys are using and if you like it, or what you would do different.

I went with 3.73's it seems to be the populat gear to go with. I think 4.10's would be a bit too much for the amount of hiway driving I do.

3:42'S make the perfect gear for highway and the track and going from 2:73's you will notice a big difference.

3.73 all the way..@ 75mph my rpm's sit around 2500-2600. Noticed a slight diff in gas milage but real minor. If you drive a ton of hwy go with 3.42. Anythings better then the 2.73..

3.73 is the lowest I would go if you never plan on spraying the car. 3.42 is the lowest I'd go if you ever plan on spraying the car. These statements assume that you are keeping stock sized 26 inch tires.

3.73. Great gear for A4 26" tire. If you start getting enough power where it becomes a problem, throw a 28" tire on.

I am running 323's... not much "if any" difference in the 342's... I am also running a 3600 stall, car runs VERY good, high 11's in the 1/4.. and still get 20-21 mpg hwy @ 280-300 miles to a tank of fuel... Not too shabby if you ask me...

I'm running 3.73's good compromise between speed and drivability imo. I have no complaints, I have em on a dd.
